Please see below a letter from Nigel Hailey regarding the search for United Kingdom Contingent Leaders for the 13th World Scout Moot and 22nd World Scout Jamboree.

You will be aware that there are two major world Scout events due to take place in the forthcoming three years. The 13th World Scout Moot will take place in Kenya during July/August 2010 and the 22nd World Scout Jamboree will take place in Sweden during July/August 2011.

As in previous years, the United Kingdom will participate in Both events, sending a contingent of young people and adults to each. Planning and preparations will begin for our participation in both events in the coming months. The first stage is to appoint two Contingent Leaders to lead each of the contingents.

The process to recruit the two Contingent Leaders will start immediately. All applications received will be considered by the search group and short-listed candidates will be invited to attend a selection meeting on Saturday 1st November at Gilwell Park. The search group has been formed and is composed of:

§ Nigel Hailey – International Commissioner;

§ Callum Kaye – District Explorer Scout Commissioner, International Service Team member at the 21st World Scout Jamboree, participant at the 12th World Scout Moot; and

§ Kirsten Rawson – Explorer Scout Leader, Unit Leader at the 21st World Scout Jamboree.

The search group will be supported by:

§ Ross Maloney – Head of Activities and International Affairs

The search group is looking to cast its net as widely as possible in seeking applications for these appointments. I would therefore like to ask you to help, by sharing this information with those who you think may be suited to these roles. The closing date for receipt of application forms is Friday 24th October.
