The Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association, Wayne Bulpitt, called in to visit young Scouts from across County Tyrone Scout camping on the Baronscourt Estate, Newtownstewart last weekend.
Over 280 Explorers, Scouts, Cubs, Beavers and Squirrels enjoyed a programme of high adventure that included canoeing, rafting, backwoods cooking, building campsites, archery, team building, games, crafts, climbing and much more. The Cub Scouts also took a trip to W5 to join in with the Northern Ireland Cub activity day where over 700 more Cubs from across the province were gathered.
Wayne was welcomed to the camp by County Tyrone President, the Duke of Abercorn, County Commissioner, Rev. David Skuce, Richard Bullick from Omagh Explorer Scouts and Camp Chief Sam Moore. In speaking about his experience, Wayne commented ‘many thanks to County Tyrone Scouts for a great morning at their fantastic camp.’
